Sketch of my Dream House (December 14, 2018)
This is a sketch of the house that I would love to build. I call it the Half-Torus. A torus is geometry shaped like a donut. I think I would build it out of rebar and cement. But could possibly be made entirely of out ceramic and fired by building a gigantic kiln around it. If it ever got so dirty or cluttered – I could just fire it again.

My series of 15 Cloudscapes will be exhibited this Friday, November 30, 2018 at The Carnegie gallery as part of the exhibition, “Open Source 1.2” This exhibition is a continuation of rotating installations and objects selected by a fluid team of curators, artists, collectors, writers, critics and community organizers from across the region.
As an example, I posted a very small Cloudscape drawing that was included in the 2018 Secret Artworks Fundraiser this year.

“Surrealist Symbolism” (November 14, 2018)
Below is a colored pencil drawing I haven’t posted yet, that is part of the series I am calling, “Surrealist Symbolism” for lack of a better title.
I have actually started the process to animate this character. I have drawn and scanned the legs for a walk cycle, the wings for flight, a front view and all the mouths for lip synching. There is still a lot more I need to do to prepare it for animation.

Vanishing Dragon Path Certificate for Tai Chi Quan (November 1, 2018)
I was asked by Tim Coletta to design a logo and a certificate for the Shaolin Martial Arts Academy. A martial art developed by three main masters that is called “Vanishing Dragon Path”. It is representative of three amazing men who want to teach their knowledge to others before they disappear.
I designed the logo – which is the dragon, clouds and the three mountains in the background (the three masters).
For the certificate, I scanned old papers and combined them for the background texture and designed the border. I left faint circles for the ‘chop’ of the master. I had a lot of fun and a lot of freedom to create this project.

Glass Mold Carving (October 24, 2018)
Below are photos of a glass mold that I carved for Burning Man this year. I was visiting and staying with my glassblower friend Rodman Miller in Seattle. He asked me to carve a glass mold for small glass medallions that he would create and give out to people at Burning Man. Burning Man has a policy of ‘gifting’ people. So I designed this logo of a glassblowing shears that incorporated the Burning Man symbol for him. I carved a graphite mold (which glass does not stick to) with a variety of tools including dental tools. It was quite fun and interesting as I have always drawn with graphite but never carved into it. We did a quick sample of the glass medallion for me to see and revise the mold and that is the next to last photo in this message. A photo of my friend Rodman in his studio is the last photo.
